We are at 44 Mill Street, just off the High Street, and opposite the BUPA dental service. We are directly behind the old NatWest building. See us on a map.

By bus: get off at the top of the high street, or at the Triangle.

By bike: there’s bike parking in front of Potbury’s and by the Library.

By car: There are short term car parks in Mill Street, and by the Ham. Long term parking is available in Manor Road.

We offer memberships on a monthly basis. Rates depend on how often you want to use the shared workspace and participate in the community and events. As a not-for-private-profit Community Interest Company we are proud to offer the some of the most competitive membership rates in the whole of the UK - affordable for even the smallest, small business.

If you want to cancel your membership of The Lighthouse you can do that at any time. Simply log into your account and cancel your subscription before it rolls into the next month. Please note that your subscription is your responsibility and no refunds on past subscriptions will be given.

We run regular learning and social events at The Lighthouse. We encourage Crew Members to put on their own events – either for other Crew Members, or for their own business marketing or educational purposes.

As a member you enjoy a discounted venue hire rate: talk to Cathy or Louise for details if you have an event in mind.

The space takes up to 16 people and is available for rent on weekday evenings and at weekends. It will be your responsibility to clean up after your event, making sure that it is ready for members to work in the next morning.

Events can be run between 6pm and 10pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 9pm at the weekend.

We have chosen to adopt a no frills approach which keeps our membership rates as affordable as possible. We offer:

  • An inspiring, clutter-free conducive environment to get your best work done.
  • Shared tables to work at or smaller ones to get your head down and concentrate.
  • Super-fast (for Sidmouth!) broadband.
  • Community events and networking: opportunities to collaborate, connect, learn…and have a wine with like minds!
  • If you need a coffee fix, there’s plenty of choice just round the corner. We support our many excellent local cafés.

The Lighthouse is open and available to Crew Members 7am to 9pm daily. Solo working takes priority in the space 7am – 5pm.

The Lighthouse is available to host events evenings 6pm – 9pm, and at weekends. Please double check the events page if you are intending to work at those times and ensure there is not an event on; events take priority in the space 5pm to 9pm and at weekends.

Please bear in mind our neighbours when you are entering and leaving and keep noise to a minimum.

Yes, you are welcome to split your days into half days to use over the month - however best suits your working schedule. (The whole point of working for yourself – right?!)

The odd phone call is not a problem, but The Lighthouse is not the best place for people who spend a lot of time on the phone, if that’s you it’s probably not suitable. We are about providing a productive work environment for all.
